Wiretap’s Favorite Netflix Originals from 2018

With 2018 coming to a close, it’s time for us to look back at everything we streamed this year and applaud what really stood out.

This has been an exciting year for Netflix Originals, with dozens of new offerings and returning hits. From shining debuts that included Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Lost in Space to sophomore seasons of GLOW and Jessica Jones, each week brought an exciting binge-watching opportunity.

Here are the Wiretap team’s picks for the top Netflix Originals in 2018.

Gary: My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman

David Letterman

I’m a huge Letterman fan and getting to have him back again on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction — refreshed, funny and insightful — was perfect.

Wendy: Ozark

Ozark

My favourite binge-watching Netflix moment was Ozark Season 2. I love the complexity of the story, the dips and turns, and how it has you rooting for the Byrde family.

David: On My Block

On My Block

On My Block really resonated with me. The characters all reminded me of friends I grew up with. No TV show has ever left me so shook like that finale.

Melissa: One Day at a Time

One Day at a Time

In its second season, One Day at a Time continued to be one of the best shows on Netflix. I love how the Alvarez family really brings you into their world and makes you feel like you are part of it. Seeing Elena fall in love with Syd put a smile on my face, and Lydia’s storyline in the final two episodes of the season had me sobbing.
